The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has congratulated Abdullahi Ganduje and Ajibola Basiru on their appointments as All Progressive Congress National Chairman and Secretary, respectively.
Earlier on Thursday, August 3, the APC National Working Committee held its National Executive Council meeting in Abuja and made the appointments.
The APC NEC meeting was attended by party dignitaries, including President Bola Tinubu, his vice president, Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and many more.
In his reaction to this development, Abbas, who is a member of the APC, congratulated the duo in a statement issued via his X handle and said he believes both of them have the required wealth of experience to lead the party.
He tweeted, “I congratulate Ganduje and Basiru on their emergence as APC national chairman and secretary.
“I believe the two-term Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has all it takes to take APC to higher dimensions, for without any doubts, he is a consummate politician who comes on board with a lot of experience. His emergence as the APC National Chairman is a testament to his years of dedication and commitment to the party.
“I also commend the leadership of the APC for reaching the decision on the new national chairman and the national secretary; our party has set a great example of internal democracy for other political parties in the country.
“I charge the new leaders of our beloved party, APC, to work towards unifying the members of the National Working Committee (NWC) and the entire party as well as mobilising more support for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
“As a loyal party member, I look forward to working with the new national chairman and the entire membership of the APC NWC.
“God Bless APC
God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
