The Anambra State Government has announced temporary adjustments to traffic flow in anticipation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to the state on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
In a statement released, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, revealed that the visit is part of a high-level engagement during which the President is expected to commission a number of infrastructural projects executed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
“The Government of Anambra State is pleased to announce that His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, will be coming to Anambra State on a state visit,” the statement read.
Mefor noted that the projects to be unveiled reflect the developmental strides achieved under Governor Soludo, popularly referred to as the “Solution Governor.”
“During this historic visit, Mr. President shall commission some projects of the Soludo administration, showcasing the state’s progress and development under the excellent leadership of Governor Soludo,” he added.
Residents, motorists, and commuters have been advised to anticipate slight disruptions in traffic and movement patterns during the visit. The state government has urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement and other relevant agencies to ensure a smooth and successful presidential engagement.
“We kindly urge Ndi Anambra to cooperate with security agencies and other relevant authorities in the build-up to this visit,” Mefor appealed. “Together, we shall give Mr. President and his delegation a resounding welcome.”
He emphasized the significance of the visit, describing it as a milestone that highlights the state’s achievements and increasing national relevance.
The government expressed confidence that Anambra residents would display their well-known hospitality and ensure a memorable experience for the President and his entourage.
