The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, is allegedly in the Presidential Villa, after a heated argument in the red chamber, which eventually resulted in a motion to suspend the screening of Festus Keyamo SAN, a ministerial nominee from Delta State, on Monday.
The motion which suspended Keyamo’s screening was moved by a lawmaker representing Abia West Senatorial District of Abia State, Senator Nwokocha Darlington, and was seconded by Enyinnaya Abaribe, a senator from Abia-South Senatorial District.
Nwokocha had accused the former minister of employment, labour and employability of disrespecting the 9th National Assembly and levelling allegations of corruption against the previous administration, which Keyamo served in.
According to him, Keyamo was invited to clarify matters about a Special Public Works programme during that time but failed to honour the invitation.
The programme which was overseen by the National Directorate of Employment, which fell under Keyamo’s ministry, was said to have received a sum of N52B.
