The Peoples Democratic Party in Adamawa State has announced its preparations for the upcoming local government elections, slated for July 13, 2024.
The party’s state chairman, Barrister Tahir Shehu, revealed the election timetable during a meeting in Yola, emphasizing the party’s readiness to mobilize support across the state.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, represented by his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, urged party members to unite and show tolerance as they gear up for the election.
He stressed the importance of harmony within the party to ensure the government delivers benefits to the people according to Independent.
The PDP announced a detailed timetable for the election, including the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms, screening of aspirants, and primaries for both chairmanship and councillorship positions.
The party also offered a 50% discount on forms for women and physically challenged members.
With the election date approaching, the PDP is poised to campaign vigorously to secure victory in the local government polls.
