The 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has synthesized the victims of fire incidents at the Canadian High Commission, where two people were reportedly dead and the one at Samsung office, both in Abuja on Monday, November 6, 2023.
While sympathizing with the victims of the fire incidents via his official X handle on Tuesday, Obi encouraged them not to despair during this challenging time.
The former Anambra State governor also called on the government and the relevant agencies, to investigate the cause of the terrible fire incidents, which claimed two lives and also destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
He however sympathized with the Canadian High Commission and Samsung office over the sad occurrence.
“The reports of the two fire incidents that rocked the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, yesterday, are very concerning.
“First, a fire incident was reported at the Canadian High Commission, Abuja, where about 2 people reportedly lost their lives, and next was the Samsung office at the Banex Junction in Wuse 2, Abuja, where goods worth millions of naira have been destroyed.
“While I urge the government and the relevant agencies, to carry out investigations into the causes of the fire incidents, I send my sincere sympathies to the Canadian High Commission @CanHCNigeria over this sad occurrence.
“I also commiserate with the business owners at the Samsung Office in Abuja who have lost a fortune to the inferno.
“These are very challenging times, but I encourage them not to despair. May God grant eternal rest to the dead, heal the wounded, and comfort the afflicted. -PO,” he tweeted.
