The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State, Matthew Egomo, who was kidnapped with his son on November 19, has not been released by his abductors.
Egomo was kidnapped alongside his son, along Ikom Ogoja Road close to Afi River in Nde Ward, about 15 km from Ikom Local Government Area headquarters.
According to a source, the five-man gang which kidnapped the APC chairman was neutralised by the police
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, SP Irene Ugbo who is currently on leave, said she was not aware of the incident but promised to investigate it.
However, kidnappers were reported to have received over N50 million from another victim, a proprietor of a nursery school who was kidnapped around the same Ikom LGA, a few weeks ago.
