A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party , Mallam Abdulmalik Sulaiman, has sounded the alarm over a shadowy group’s attempt to dissolve the party’s National Executive Council.
Sulaiman denounced the move as “wishful thinking” and “the antics of drunken nonentities” aimed at sowing discord within the party.
He urged Nigerians and authorities to disregard the communique announcing the dissolution of the NEC, led by Dr. Ajuji Ahmed and Dipo Olayokun, on May 27, 2024. Sulaiman emphasized that those behind the move are unknown to the party and are likely acting on behalf of disgruntled elements who have been expelled from the party due to their attempts to undermine its progress.
Sulaiman ridiculed the suspension of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the expulsion of national leader Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, calling it “laughable” and “the height of illegality and foolery.”
He appealed to security agents to help the party apprehend those behind the moves, warning that failure to do so could spell doom for peace and order, according to Leadership.
The NNPP chieftain praised the current leadership, stating that the party enjoys a peaceful atmosphere under Dr. Ajuji’s leadership, and urged the media to verify information from relevant party organs before publishing.
Sulaiman said, “We have been intimated by our numerous supporters and the media of the antics of some sponsored elements unknown to the party purporting to have dissolved the National Executive Council (NEC). This is nothing but wishful thinking carried out by drunken nonentities fanning ambers of discord within the party,” Suleiman said.
He continued, “We have been told that these individuals are not acting alone but are being propelled by some disgruntled elements who have since been shown the way of the party because of their series of acts capable of truncating the progressives march of the party.
“This is the height of illegality and foolery. How can anyone in his right senses contemplate such?
“These are the personalities who worked tirelessly for the current renaissance that the party is currently enjoying in the country today.”
Suleiman said there is no political party in the country that currently enjoys a peaceful atmosphere like NNPP, “Dr. Ajuji led NWC has stabilised the party to the admiration of all party members across the country.”
