The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has urged Nigerians to give adequate support to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, noting that politics have come and gone.
Wike made this call while addressing newsmen after meeting with Tinubu at the Defence House in Abuja on Friday.
“Elections have come and gone. The winner has emerged and therefore is it necessary for all Nigerians to give him the necessary support for the interest of Nigeria.
“I am confident that he has what it takes to turn Nigeria around,” the governor added.
Wike was accompanied by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state during the visit.
Tinubu, the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress defeated the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the stardand bearer of Labour Party to emerge the winner of the keenly contested February 25 general elections.
Wike, a PDP governor, is imploring Nigerians to throw their weight behind the incoming administration, which is set to be sworn in on May 29th, 2023.
