The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has taken into custody social media influencer Muhammed Kabir Sa’ad over allegations of currency abuse in a viral video shared online.
In a post shared via its official handle on X on Monday, the Commission revealed that operatives from its Kaduna Zonal Directorate arrested Sa’ad following a video he posted in which he publicly challenged the EFCC to apprehend him.
“Sa’ad made a video of himself on his TikTok and Instagram accounts (@youngcee0066), where he was seen throwing naira notes on the floor, deliberately stepping on them, and daring EFCC officers in Hausa language to arrest him if they could.
“He was subsequently picked up in the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna State through surveillance and conveyed to the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Commission for interrogation,” the statement said.
According to the EFCC, Sa’ad will face charges in court after the ongoing investigation is concluded.
