Popular Juju musician, King Sunny Ade, has been declared missing by his daughter, Damilola Adeniyi-Adegeye.
On Monday, Damilola took to Instagram to cry out for help, claiming that her 78-year-old father had been kidnapped by his stepbrother and manager, Dayo, along with other family members.
In several posts, Damilola said her father was being held against his will and forced to keep working despite his poor health.
She wrote: “My dad is working under duress and the real family is looking for him. The manager is keeping him away from home and his office. They have been moving him from hotel to hotel and giving him sleeping medications because of his insomnia. He is 78 years old and they keep making him perform even after one of his daughters died and he has not had time to mourn yet! I want my dad out of their bondage now! Please help me!”
Damilola also said that her father’s last phone call to her made her even more worried.
She explained: “The last time I spoke to KSA, he sounded very distressed and the phone was quickly taken away from him. Since then, he has not been reachable.”
A media personality known as Akanbi the Duke also shared Damilola’s concern on Instagram. He said that all efforts by King Sunny Ade’s close friends to reach him had failed.
Akanbi wrote: “Although Damilola has been running a personal campaign for her father, it seems like no one has paid attention to her.”
In more posts, Damilola accused King Sunny Ade’s manager, Dayo, and others of controlling the singer’s finances without the knowledge of his biological children.
She claimed: “King Sunny Ade has been kidnapped. The manager (Dayo), his mother, brothers (Demola, Kenny), and the driver Ade are involved.”
Damilola also called on authorities to arrest the manager and recover all the money allegedly taken from her father.
“I want Dayo (manager) apprehended. I want him to provide all the money they have been stealing. He has a UK Visa thinking he can run away,” she added.
