Chelsea icon, John Mikel Obi, has voiced his optimism that Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, will complete a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Osimhen, who currently plays for Napoli, was on the verge of joining Chelsea last year, but the transfer collapsed over disagreements regarding his wage package.
Now 26, the highly sought-after forward has once again been heavily linked with a transfer to West London as Chelsea aim to bolster their attacking options ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Reports also suggested Manchester United are monitoring the situation closely, while a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia could tempt the striker away from Europe.
Speaking during his appearance as a pundit on beIN Sports, Mikel expressed his eagerness to see Osimhen don the Chelsea jersey.
“He (Osimhen) wants to play for Chelsea. I hope he’ll be playing his football somewhere in the Premier League next season. I hope he comes,” Mikel said.
“I know where we stopped with the contract. I know where we are. It’s an easy fix because we’ve done all the hard work last summer,” he added.
