The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the All Progressives Congress candidate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as the winner of the governorship election held in Ondo State on Saturday.
Aiyedatiwa, the incumbent governor secured victory after winning in all the 18 local government areas of the state.
The state’s Returning Officer, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, announced the final results, revealing that Aiyedatiwa garnered a total of 366,781 votes, defeating his main rival, Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party, who received 117,845 votes.
In his final declaration, Akinwumi stated that Aiyedatiwa had met the legal requirements to be returned elected, confirming his victory in the election.
“That Aiyedatiwa Lucky Orimisan of APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby returned elected,” the Returning Officer said while declaring the result.
