The 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair officially began on Friday, featuring more than 3,500 exhibitors from over 15 countries.
Organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the fair, themed “Connecting Businesses, Creating Value,” will run from November 1 to November 10 at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.
At the event’s opening ceremony, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by his deputy Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, underscored the fair’s significance for economic development.
“In today’s world, connectivity is the backbone of growth. This Trade Fair is a testament to the undeniable power of partnerships,” he said. “We are in an age where collaboration fuels innovation, and innovation ignites value.”
The governor emphasized the role of the fair in linking small and medium-sized enterprises with global corporations and providing a platform for local manufacturers and tech innovators to display their work.
“This Trade Fair brings together the tools, networks, and resources essential for value creation,” he added.
LCCI President Gabriel Idahosa highlighted the fair’s importance amid Nigeria’s current economic adjustments, which are creating both challenges and new opportunities.
“As an incubator of ideas and a catalyst for commerce, LITF stands as a beacon of opportunity, offering enterprises the platform to showcase resilience-driven solutions, explore synergies, and drive sustainable growth in Nigeria and the wider region,” Idahosa noted.
Idahosa also mentioned the anticipated high turnout for the event, with nearly one million visitors expected throughout the ten days.
“With over 3,500 exhibitors from more than 15 countries, we are committed to providing a dynamic platform that fosters business networking, explores new market opportunities, and encourages partnerships to generate value across the economy,” he said.
