Former Ondo Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi has expressed optimism that he would come out victorious in the Peoples Democratic Party primary holding today (Thursday).
Agboola is one of the seven aspirants seeking to emerge as the party’s flag bearer in the November governorship election.
A total of 627 delegates are to participate in the polls.
Speaking with journalists on Thursday morning, Agboola said he had gone round the 18 Local Government Areas of the state to campaign on why he remained the best option to rout the All Progressive Congress out of power.
The former Deputy Governor said the November poll would be a walkover for the PDP if the delegates lived up to their promises to vote for him.
He stated that he possessed the political will to turn the state around for the citizens to be happy.
He said: “You can see that the APC is already a divided house. The PDP needs a strong candidate like myself to secure victory.
“I am very optimistic of winning today’s primary. I have told the delegates my vision and mission and they know that I know how to take care of party members. They know I can make everybody happy.
“I have told them about my plans to develop infrastructure in the riverine communities. I assured them of plans to create jobs and make live meaningful for Ondo people.”
