The leader of a faction of the Pan Yoruba sociopolitical group Afenifere, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, has warned Yoruba people not to engage in protest to further escalate tension in the country.
In a statement, Fasoranti appealed to Yoruba people, advising them not to participate in planned protests against the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government.
According to Politics Nigeria, the factional leader acknowledged the country’s ongoing economic challenges but urged citizens to exercise patience and endurance in the face of the current hardships.
He urged the populace to trust the government’s commitment to addressing the root causes of economic challenges inherited from previous administrations.
“As a responsible leader, I appeal to every Yoruba man and woman, young and old, and our fellow citizens across the nationalities, to exercise patience and refrain from engaging in protests or actions that may escalate tensions,” Fasoranti stated.
He called for a collective understanding of the larger strategy behind the economic measures implemented by the Tinubu-led administration, expressing confidence that these measures were aimed at restoring economic prosperity and stability.
