The New Nigeria Peoples Party has suspended its North-Central Zonal Secretary, Mr Phillip Haruna, over allegations of misconduct.
NNPP in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Yakubu Shendam, on Friday in Abuja.
According to Shendam, the allegations against Haruna include gross misconduct, in contravention of Article 39 of the party’s Constitution.
He explained that the party’s National Working Committee decided to suspend Haruna at its meeting on Wednesday, by Article 39 of the NNPP Constitution.
Shendam further explained that the suspension was to allow a proper investigation into the allegations against Haruna.
However, the party said the suspension is with immediate effect.
