Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, is dead.
According to a family source, Na’Abba died in the early hours of Wednesday, December 27, 2023, in Abuja. according to the family.
Na’Abba, a prominent political figure in Nigeria, held the position of a Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2023, during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The former Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, represented the Kano Municipal Federal Constituency, securing victory during the April 1999 general elections
The former Rep Speaker who was Born on September 27, had prolonged illness before succumbing on Wednesday.
Reports revealed that his health struggles had earlier prompted his medical treatment abroad, which took him a long period away from Nigeria.
However, the late politician successfully recuperated and returned to the country after a long period.
His funeral arrangements are, however, set to adhere to Islamic rites, with plans for his interment in Abuja.
