The Peoples Democratic Party Chairman in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, Mr Adinoyi Aroke has reportedly resigned from the party, a few weeks before the governorship election in the state.
Aroke disclosed this through a letter of resignation sent to the chairman of the party in Obereke Eba Ward, Okehi Local Government Area of the State, where Mrs Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the PDP senatorial candidate in the last National Assembly election hails from.
According to the party chieftain, he has been a loyal and committed member of the PDP since 1998.
In his letter of resignation sent to the party chairman on the 7th of September, 2023, Aroke noted that his membership of the party had come to an end.
The PDP chairman served as the former state financial secretary of the party, as well as a former Special Adviser to former Governor Ibrahim Idris on poverty reduction.
The letter reads partly: “I hereby write to tender my letter of resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, after my loyal and dedicated service to the party since 1998.
“With this resignation henceforth, my membership of the party has completely come to an end.
“I seize this opportunity to inform the ever-growing, loyal and committed members of my political family and friends within and outside Kogi State, that my next political move will be made known after due consultation.”
