The ruling All Progressives Congress, has refuted the news of the composition of its campaign council for the forthcoming governorship elections in Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa State.
Making this disclosure to the general public, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, in a statement on Tuesday night, said the lists released were not an official document from the party.
Morka through the statement which was posted on the official X handle of the party, urged the general public to disregard the purported council list.
It would be recalled that the alleged council list, which featured the name of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, caused some reactions among Nigerians on Tuesday, when the name of Wike who was believed to be a member of the opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party, peup in the list.
Reacting to the list, Morka wrote: “The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to National Campaign Council Lists for the 11th November 2023 Governorship Elections in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo States in circulation in sections of the media.
The lists are not official documents of the Party and should be disregarded.”
