Labour Party chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo has expressed fears that Nigerians will be subjectee to inordinate taxes inder the current administration of President Bola AhmedTinubu.
The veteran Nollywood actor made the disclosure while reacting to the president’s nomination of 47 persons for ministerial appointments instead of 37.
In a Twitter post on Thursday, Okonkwo lamented that the country is heading towards being the poorest country in the world.
He argued that the nomination of 47 instead of 37 ministers will lead to more expenses and as such would compel the government to taxing and over-pricing of essential commodities as well as borrowing to be able to foot it’s expenses.
“What a regime? We are heading towards being the poorest country in the world, and this regime is considering setting up the most bloated bureaucracy in the world, which will lead to the highest cost of governance in the world 47 ministers when the government is only compelled to have 37.
“The money to be used to pay them will eventually be extorted from Nigerians through inordinate taxing and over-pricing of essential commodities and borrowing from outside sources because APC regimes produce nothing. I pity Nigerians under this clueless regime,” he said.
