Former President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.), has visited former Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Saidu Barda, at his residence in Katsina.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Buhari, who was in the company of the State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, and some state government officials, had earlier visited business magnate Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal on a condolence visit over the death of his wife.
Recall that the wife of the businessman, Hajiya Aisha Dahiru Mangaldie, died at a hospital in Abuja on Saturday after a protracted illness, and her remains had since been buried in Katsina on Sunday.
The husband has, however, continued to receive important dignitaries on condolence visits.
On Wednesday, during the visit, Buhari was joined by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State as well as the ex-president’s personal assistant, Tunde Sabiu.
The former president offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for Allah to grant the Mangal family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Other important personalities who were in Katsina for a condolence visit to the Mangal family were Kano and Zamfara state governors, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, and Dr. Lawal Dauda.
