The Governornship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in Rivers State, Tonte Ibraye and his running mate, Tonto Dike have been suspended from the party.
According to the party leadership, other party members were also suspended from the party, following the allegation of anti-party activities and insubodination.
This was disclosed in a statement, jointly signed by the state chairman of the party, Leader Samson, the deputy chairman, Alali Ikpoemugh and the state secretary, Gabriel Patterson-Unyeowaji.
The suspension, which was as announced, following the recommendations by the state disciplinary committee, which also ratified by the state working committee of the party.
The statement, which revealed that, Ibraye has created more division in the party since his emergence as the Party’s flagbearer, in the coming election, especially, especially, his endorsement of a presidential candidate and his ruining mate.
The statement further, revealed that no sign of commitment regarding campaigns, from either the party flagbearer or his running mate, to take the party to victory in the election, noting that they worked against a senatorial candidate in their areas.
However, they called on the general public to take note, as the suspended members do not have any right to speak or stand for the party.
Other suspended members of the party are; the former State Deputy Chairman of the party, Ode Lawrence-Gbagire, the former State Secretary, Eke Iheanyi-Eugene, former Youth leader, Deinma Emmanuel, the former Publicity Secretary, Luckyman Egila and former Legal Adviser, Hamza Victor-Chukere.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the Ibraye Campaign Organization, Eke Eugene said, “Sampson lacks the power to suspend them, following his earlier suspension from the party.”
