Ahmad Sani Muhammad of the All Progressives Congress has been named the winner of the election for the Bakura/Maradun federal constituency in Zamfara state by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
According to the Returning Officer for the election, Dr. Ahmad Kainuwa of Federal University Gusaue, the winner “had completed all the conditions of the law and obtained the highest number of votes cast in the election,”
Ahmad Sani Muhammad is the son of Alhaji Ahmed Sani Yarima, the first civilian governor of Zamfara state.
In all, the APC received 55,292 votes, while PDP received 17,555.
In a related event, the All Progressives Congress candidate Hon. Muhammad Isah Anka has been proclaimed the winner of the election for the Anka/Talata Mafara federal constituency in Zamfara state by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
According to the returning officer for the Anka/Talata Mafara federal constituency in Zamfara state, Dr. Ibrahim Garba, the APC candidate received 47,722 votes, while Kabiru Yahaya of the People’s Democratic Party received 14,872.
