The Independent National Electoral Commission, has disclosed that election would not in hold in eleven polling units across four out of 17 local government areas in Yobe State .
Yobe state which is located in the northern part of Nigeria and mainly into agriculture, was said to have 2,823 polling units across the 17 local government areas.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Ibrahim Abdullahi made this known at a recent stakeholders’ meeting in Damaturu.
According to him, the affected polling in four units are situated in Bursari, Fika, Jakusko and Yusufari local government areas, noting that the Commission will not deploy human and materials to those units due to zero registrants.
He stated that the INEC, Yobe state has a total of 1,445,000 registered voters for this year’s elections.
Yobe is a large diverse northeast state and one of the APC dominated state in the nation.
