A High Court in Yola, Adamawa State, has barred the All Progressives Congress Senatorial Candidate for the Adamawa North Senatorial District, Elisha Abbo, from seeking re-election.
According to Daily Post,the verdict was delivered on Monday by Justice Danladi Mohammed, who ruled that Senator Abbo was not qualified to seek re-election since the party had expelled him.
The judge further ruled that the Senator and the APC are obligated by the resolution of the party’s Mubi North Local Government executives dated October 7, 2022, which expelled the lawmaker; hence, he is not entitled to any right or privilege afforded to APC members.
It further requested that Senator Abbo stop presenting himself as the party’s candidate for the zone.
In the meantime, the besieged senator has criticized the finding, calling it a cash-and-carry decision.
