The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has rescheduled his rally in Abia state.
The Director Media and Publicity, Atiku/Okowa Presidential Council in the state, Kingsley Megwara, made this known in a statement on Thursday, according to NaijaNews.
According to the statement, the rally, which was previously scheduled for January 10, has now been moved to an earlier date, January 9.
While Megwara did not give reasons for the change in date, however, he simply apologized for any inconveniences it might cause Atiku’s supporters and party faithfuls.
He also stated that there would be no change in the venue of the rally which remains Umuahia Township Stadium, while time is 9:00am.
The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, was apparently absent at the inauguration of the Abia chapter of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, with members of the PCC vowing to push ahead with the campaign despite the governor’s membership with the Wike-led G5 that has refused to identify with Atiku’s campaigns.
