An early morning accident on Wednesday caused major traffic delays on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway after a trailer collided with a Honda EOD, forcing the car off the road and into a roadside culvert.
According to The PUNCH, eyewitnesses say the trailer rammed into the Honda at high speed, causing the smaller vehicle to veer off the road and crash into the culvert.
“The impact was so sudden. The driver of the car didn’t have a chance to avoid it,” said Segun Odunayo, a witness at the scene. “It was a miracle that no lives were lost.”
Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) quickly responded, managing the situation and coordinating the removal of the damaged vehicle, which was later towed away.
Another bystander, Olabode Olalekan, added, “The road was partially blocked for some time, but the FRSC officials did well to restore traffic flow.”
