Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has responded to allegations that he used supernatural powers—commonly referred to as juju —to defeat fellow entertainer, Speed Darlington, during their recent celebrity boxing match.
The much-anticipated match, tagged Chaos in the Rings, ended unexpectedly after Speed Darlington failed to continue into the second round. He had sustained an arm injury during the first round, leading to Portable being declared the winner.
In a social media post after the bout, Speed Darlington insinuated that the injury might have had more than a physical cause, hinting that diabolical forces were at play.
“I don’t know what exactly happened, maybe it was the juju that Portable brought. I wasn’t tired, but my hand got dislocated,” Speed Darlington claimed.
Reacting to the allegation, Portable appeared to embrace the accusation rather than deny it. In a video post, he confidently said, “I am not a loser, I am a winner. He [Speed Darlington] is saying I used juju. Yes, na juju, go find your own juju.” He also took the opportunity to thank his fans for their continued support. “My fans, God bless you. Thank you for your support,” he said.
In a related development, Portable also revealed that he received a cash gift of ₦20 million from Grammy Award-winning music star Burna Boy in celebration of his boxing victory.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Portable wrote, “₦20 million from Burna Boy. If you wanna be like Odogwu, can you do like Odogwu? God bless your family.”
