Juventus secured a 2-1 win over Lecce at the Allianz Stadium, temporarily climbing to third place in Serie A.
The result also extended their impressive home form in the top flight to just a single defeat in 17 games this season.
New manager, Igor Tudor, who stepped in following Thiago Motta’s departure, continued his promising start in the dugout with a win and a draw from his first two matches at the helm.
Concerns may have lingered over Juve’s recent scoring woes, they hadn’t netted more than one goal in any of their previous four SA outings but any worries quickly evaporated thanks to a sharp attacking display in the opening half.
It took less than two minutes for the hosts to make their mark. Dušan Vlahović slid a clever ball into the path of Teun Koopmeiners, who coolly slotted the ball into the corner, beating Wladimiro Falcone’s dive.
Lecce attempted a response, coming closest when Nikola Krstović saw a deflected effort bounce off the post before forcing a save from Michele Di Gregorio.
However, those moments would be as threatening as the visitors got before the break, as Juventus dominated the remainder of the half.
Vlahović missed an early chance to double the lead, and though the pace of the match slowed, Juve came alive again in the final 15 minutes before halftime.
Manuel Locatelli drew a save from Falcone, and moments later, a flowing team move culminated in Kenan Yıldız finishing with precision to put Juventus firmly in control.
The margin could have grown wider before the break had Falcone not denied Lloyd Kelly with a sharp save.
The second half saw a drop in Juve’s intensity, allowing Lecce to enjoy more possession, though clear-cut chances remained scarce.
Federico Baschirotto’s header over the crossbar stood as the visitors’ only meaningful effort early in the half, while Juventus nearly extended their lead when Andrea Cambiaso — scorer in the reverse fixture — forced Falcone into another stop.
Baschirotto eventually found the net with a well-placed header to offer Lecce hope late on, but Juventus held firm to collect all three points and bolster their push for UEFA Champions League qualification, with the critical clash between Atalanta and Bologna looming on Sunday.
For Lecce, the defeat prolongs a troubling nine-game winless streak and leaves them just two points above the relegation line, adding more pressure in their fight for survival in Serie A.
