Amid the various reactions from Nigerians regarding the credibility of its recently released presidential campaign list, the Labour Party Presidential Candidate has promised to rectify the errors in the list.
The former Anambra Governor in a series of tweets on Friday while acknowledged the errors promised to review and update the list.
The presidential candidate in the tweets also reiterated his commitment to transparency and accountability.
He wrote, “I’ve received several calls of concern following the release of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council list. Admittedly, there were some omissions and erroneous entries in the list, hence the concerns expressed.
“In response, the Labour Party Chairman in the presence of members of the NWC addressed the issues during a press conference. In keeping with our commitment to accountability, responsiveness and transparency, an updated list will be issued in due course. I plead for patience. -PO”
The PUNCH had previously reported that the LP leadership had an emergency meeting on Thursday to address the uproar caused by the inclusion of some names and exclusion of others proposed by members of its National Working Committee for its Presidential Campaign Council.
Less than twenty-four hours following the PCC’s inauguration, some of those on the list were criticized.
