The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has extended his congratulations to Mr. Ahmadu Musa Kida on his recent appointment as the Board Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. He also felicitated with Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer, and other members of the newly constituted NNPCL board.
In a statement signed by Nneamaka Okafor, Special Assistant on Media and Communication to the Minister, Senator Lokpobiri described the appointments as well-deserved. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for demonstrating visionary leadership by making these strategic appointments, which align with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act. According to the Minister, the move is set to further strengthen the legal framework governing the oil and gas sector, enhancing efficiency, accountability, and competitiveness.
“This is a crucial step toward further repositioning the NNPCL to meet the demands of the evolving global energy landscape,” Senator Lokpobiri stated. “With the wealth of experience and expertise that Mr. Ahmadu Musa Kida, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari and the board members bring, I am confident that NNPCL will further drive significant progress in achieving our national energy objectives.”
The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry of Petroleum Resources’ commitment to continued collaboration with the NNPCL leadership in fulfilling its mandate. He also urged industry stakeholders, investors, and partners to support the new management team as they work towards advancing Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
“I urge all stakeholders to rally behind this new leadership as we work together to enhance production capacity, optimize value across the petroleum value chain, and secure a sustainable future for the sector,” he added.
Senator Lokpobiri also expressed gratitude to Mr. Mele Kyari for his dedicated service to the nation. He reiterated that under the leadership of President Tinubu, Nigeria remains committed to creating an enabling environment for growth, investment, and transformation within the oil and gas industry.
