The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, has intercepted a container truck loaded with 70,000 litres of stolen petroleum products concealed in an inbuilt storage tank in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The operation, executed by the NSCDC Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad, was part of ongoing efforts to curb oil theft and illegal bunkering in the region.
Confirming the development in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, the NSCDC stated that the truck was seized following credible intelligence on the activities of oil thieves in the area.
“The Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad has impounded a long container truck with 70,000 litres of stolen petroleum products hidden inside an inbuilt storage tank in Port Harcourt,” the statement read.
The NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to tackling illegal oil activities across the country, warning that those involved in such crimes would face the full weight of the law.
