President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, following his official visit to the Netherlands, to participate in the 2024 Special World Economic Forum meeting.
The meeting, themed “Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development,” is scheduled for April 28th and 29th, 2024.
Over 1,000 leaders from business, government, and academia are expected to attend, aiming to enhance global collaboration, growth, and energy for development, building on the success of last year’s Growth Summit in Geneva.
The event aims to bridge the growing divide between the North and the South, exacerbated by new economic policies, energy transition, and geopolitical shocks.
While in Riyadh, President Tinubu and his team will engage in talks to advance his “Renewed Hope Agenda” for Nigeria, as stated by his Special Adviser, Ajuri Ngelale.
During his visit to the Netherlands, President Tinubu participated in an investment forum, emphasizing the importance of bilateral cooperation that brings mutual benefits, transformations, and real gains for citizens.
In his speech at the Nigeria-Netherlands Business and Investment Forum in The Hague, President Tinubu highlighted the need for stronger ties between Nigeria and the Netherlands, emphasizing creativity and transformation in partnerships to ensure tangible gains for citizens.
He stated, “I am delighted and honoured to be at this occasion of the Nigeria-Netherlands Business Forum. This is a platform that symbolizes the potential for collaboration and partnership between our two nations.”
President Tinubu called for stronger bonds between Nigeria and the Netherlands, not only in diplomacy but also in trade, innovation, and entrepreneurship, emphasizing the need to harness the unique strengths and resources of both countries through collaboration.
“As the world braces up for today’s economic challenges, which in many ways affect our two countries, a creative approach to the search for investment-minded solutions will prove to be the most viable path to the level of sustainable development that we all desire,” President Tinubu added.
He further outlined the areas of focus for collaboration, including industrial value addition, agribusiness, innovative technology, green energy, marine economic expansion, as well as solid mineral exploitation and processing.
