Barbadian music icon, actress, and fashion mogul Rihanna is expecting her third child with her longtime partner, American rapper A$AP Rocky.
The news was confirmed on Monday night during the 2025 Met Gala in New York, after days of speculation surrounding the singer’s appearance.
A$AP Rocky broke the news while speaking to reporters on the Met Gala red carpet, following widespread media reports that the celebrity couple might be expecting again.
“It feels amazing, you know,” A$AP Rocky said when congratulated by journalists, according to The Associated Press. “It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up, and I’m glad everybody’s happy for us, ’cause we definitely happy, you know.”
Rihanna later made her highly anticipated entrance at the gala, wearing an eye-catching pin-striped outfit that visibly showcased her pregnancy. The look featured a bolero jacket, a structured bodice, and a maxi skirt detailed with buttons. She accessorised with a kerchief necktie, black and white heels, and a dramatic wide-brimmed hat, keeping her makeup and jewellery understated to complement the ensemble.
Earlier in the day, pregnancy rumours had intensified after Rihanna was photographed entering a hotel lobby ahead of the Met Gala. She wore a fitted midi skirt and matching top, strategically concealing her midsection with what appeared to be a fur coat, sparking further speculation online.
This new baby will be Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s third child together. The couple welcomed their first son, RZA, in May 2022, followed by their second son, Riot, in August 2023.
