Popular Nigerian gospel singer and ordained pastor, Bolaji Olarewaju, fondly known as Big Bolaji or “Big B,” has passed away at the age of 50.
The sad news of his demise was confirmed in an official statement shared by his family on social media on Saturday, stirring tributes across the gospel music and Christian community.
Big Bolaji, a well-loved figure in both the church and music circles, was known for his vibrant stage presence and deep devotion to ministry.
As an ordained Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, he played a significant role in nurturing souls while using music as a tool for spiritual upliftment.
The statement released by his family read, “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bolaji Olarewaju, affectionately known as ‘Big B,’ a cherished father, husband, brother, and an esteemed figure in both the church community, an ordained Pastor in the RCCG and a giant in the music industry and our community. Bolaji left us on Easter Saturday, 19th April 2025, after a brief illness.”
His passing on Easter Saturday has left a deep void in the hearts of many who knew him, worked with him, or were touched by his ministry.
