The naira saw a boost against the US dollar in the parallel market on Saturday xuring the 2025 Easter Day celebrations in Nigeria.
According to Daily Post, a Bureau De Change operator based in Wuse Zone 4, Abubakar Alhasan, disclosed that the exchange rate improved to N1610 per dollar, up from Friday’s rate of N1620.
“The sell rate is N1,610 per dollar on Saturday. The buy rate is N1,595 per dollar. It is due to the Easter holidays,” Alhasan said.
This reflects a N10 appreciation of the naira compared to the previous day’s rate of N1620 per dollar.
Meanwhile, the official foreign exchange market had closed for the Easter break on Thursday, with the naira standing at N1,599.93 per dollar.
