A member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, has reacted to a cleric’s call on President Tinubu to sack the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Recall that on Thursday, the cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, in a video sermon of over 14 minutes posted on his official Facebook page, labelled Wike as “Satan” for receiving the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria in his office.
The lawmaker stated that the call for Wike’s removal was baseless and coming from a place of hate for Southerners and Christians and if care is not taken, it might lead to ethnic and religious tension in the country, according to the Independent.
He wondered why Sheikh Gumi over the years have been allowed by Nigeria’s security agencies to run amok and continue to push extremist views, while Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is still held in jail unjustly.
The lawmaker, who is also the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), frowned at what he called a message of hate, saying that Wike did nothing to warrant such utterances from Sheikh Gumi.
