The Financial Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ward A, Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi state, Hon. Comrade Muhammad Nuhu Tanimu, has tendered his resignation.
In a letter dated October 14, 2024, addressed to the Ward A party chairman, Tanimu expressed gratitude to the party leaders for the opportunity to serve in various capacities.
“I will like to use this medium to thank all the leaders of the party for the opportunity given to me to have served in various capacities and for their leadership role throughout my stay in the party.
“I say thank you all, it’s on this note that I say that I cease to be a member of the PDP from today,” he stated.
Tanimu acknowledged that his decision to leave was a difficult one, saying “It is a hard decision for me to take but I have to leave now.”
He also apologized for any inconvenience his resignation may cause, concluding with “I regret any inconvenience it might cause, thank you so much.”
This development comes amidst other challenges faced by the PDP, including criticism over the government’s response to the Lokoja tanker explosion.
However, the specifics of Tanimu’s resignation and its implications for the party remain unclear.
