King Charles III is expected to make a state visit to France in September, six months after a planned trip was postponed due to tense protests.
According to a French newspaper, the trip, is meant to demonstrate improving Franco-British relations, was abruptly cancelled in March as irate mass protests over pension reform shook France.
The queen and Queen Consort Camilla will visit Paris and Bordeaux in the southwest as originally scheduled, according to the regional daily Sud-Ouest, which reported this over the weekend.
According to the newspaper, the approximate dates are September 20 to 22. It also stated that King Charles’ security team had arrived in Bordeaux in July to get ready for the visit.
Due of the Pope’s planned visit to France as well as France’s hosting of the Rugby World Cup, Sud Ouest highlight that late September is already a particularly busy time for France.
There was a chance Prince William could go to Bordeaux with his father and watch Wales play Fiji in rugby, according to the report.
